“One Picture Worth Ten Thousand Words”……..Barnard

The Yulin Dog Meat Festival is a tradition that has been going on for 400 hundred years. In the 90’s our culture became aware of this horrendous festival, all in thanks to the Internet.

June is around the corner and the festival will begin again in the providence of Yulin,China and fourteen other towns in Asia. Thousands of dogs and cats, again will suffer the pain of being beaten, mutilated, skin alive, cooked alive(with the pretense; The meat will taste better) and horrendously display.

Dogs and cats will be taken from homes, villages,or have been simply harvest for this yearly event.

Petitions are swarming the internet to stop this atrocity. These pictures are not pretty, they are graphic and heart breaking and very mild to the others that are in the internet.

My View:

The Chinese Government is trying to stop this practice, thanks to the million that have responded the call for help. Yet, you must understand; a 400 year old tradition is very hard to abolished.  It saddens me to great avail a culture, who has enriched us so much with their knowledge in Medicine, Liberal Arts, Technology, Cuisine, Agriculture, Entertainment and Style Trends, has a dark side to their history and culture events.

You are encourage to do further research on the festival, write a better piece, that I have written. There are more pictures and articles, I most warned you, its not for the faint of heart.

I simply had to voiced my opinion, state the facts, and plead for the lives of these animals.

Please help.
