Phở: A Love Story — Discover

“Precious dishes like phở perpetuate an ever-evolving culture, and connect us near and far with our loved ones. For me, phở is a key artifact in my own love story, but the soup itself is a grand romance.”

Open Letter to All Animal Abuser

Maxi and Me

Hello,

My name is Max, and I am a boxer. This is my owner. She likes to be called “Mama”. When my human family tells me “….go see Mama,” I know I have to go see what she wants. I had other siblings, 11 of them to be exact. I do not know where they are now, but I do know my human family loves me and takes care of me, as I take care of them.

My human family is pretty cool. Actually, they let me lounge on the couch all day long, they give me baths when I am stinky, feed me when I am hungry, give me shelter, they buy me toys so I won’t chew their shoes or the furniture. They take me out for walks so I get exercise and take me to the Vet so that I am always healthy.

I also love those wonderful car rides. I have even become somewhat of a celebrity at my human sister’s school. I try my best not to bark too much but sometimes I can help it because I get too excited and I want to share my discovery or alert my family of danger, even voice my opinion on something I just might need or don’t understand. My Human Mom is very good at understanding what I am trying to say. She never beats me or hurts me when I am bad. They love me as I love them and they trust me as I trust them. They are my family.

I am not asking you to be like my human family, all I am asking  is to please stop hurting my fellow friends. They are not to blame for your anger or cruelty you are giving them. They don’t deserve to be mistreated or abused. All they are asking is to be loved, respected and taken care of properly. If you  can not do this anymore, there are places for free that can take them in-no questions asked. I promise you, you will feel much better about yourself.

So please think before you act. Walk away if you must. Animal cruelty is a crime, and you will be punished; it is also morally wrong. I believe it’s better to be known as an animal lover  than an animal hater.

Your Friend,

Max

How to Deal with Negative People

You hit it right on the nail. Great post.

rainbow_annie_brettell_driving_back_from_bristol“You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.” ~Joyce Meyer

Recognize and accept their toxicity
First and foremost, it is important to identify and accept that someonewe know is a negative person. This can be difficult, especially whenthe person is someonewe care about. Either way, we must be careful not to allow their negativity to transfer onto us. We need toaccept that negativity is toxic andwill only breed more negativity. It is especiallyimportant to avoid complainers. People who complain have given up hope that their actions can make anydifference. We must be careful not to enable complainers by always listening to their woes.

Stop playingsavior and/or problem solver
As human beings, we are wired to connect. For most of us, it is in our nature to lend a compassionate ear to someone who is in need. We must be careful not to let ourselves fall into the trap of…

Is Cutting The Cable, Still An Option

charter-twc-bhQuestion:

Is Cutting the cable, still an option?

Answer:

It depends on what works best for you.

My View:

I am sure, this purchases (merge, buyout) has it advantages and disadvantages, however, as a consumer what do I get out of all this?  Will I get,

  • Better Savings
  • Outstanding Service
  • Better Channel
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Great Package Deals
  • Convinience drop off or pick up locations
  • Faster Internet  Speed
  • No dead zone

Or will I get this,

  • No choices
  • Horrible Customer Service
  • Awful Package Deal
  • Paying more for services
  • No drop off services or pick up location
  • Dead Zone
  • Crawling Internet Speed

Honestly, I feel cheated. I have live in my same residence for over twenty years. I started with Time Warner Cable, when cable service was introduced to this area. My cable bill was $75 dollars back then, and I had dial-up for internet service. With time, and I moved my business to home, I paid $125 a month for my package when Brighouse took over. Great service. Having the luxury of Cable, Phone and Internet service was cutting edge.

Then, the fantasy of being at the cutting edge of technology wore off quickly, when the prices started to climb. Yet,I still had the option to bail out. I still had a voice. There was still a competitive market out there. Now, my bill is ruffly $160 per month, no phone service, no bell and whistle and a decent internet speed.

As a consumer, I have shown my cable company, stability, loyalty, good business ethics, reliable customer. Have I gotten a better deal for all these years of loyalty? No. Do I have to re-introduce myself again to this new company? Probably. Will I still be grandfather in, to a service close to what i have and pay more money? You bet.

Is it time to cut the cord. Yes it is. I stream more than I watch the TV channels. My children stream more as well. Paying for just internet service would be more economical and having a good stream like service (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, or even Droid TV) is a better deal.

I guess for now, time will tell. I might still have options, and I might still find a competitive market and a voice, it’s just harder to find.

What is your opinion. Please drop off a line. Tell us what you think?

FBI paid more than $1.3 million to iPhone hackers, says it was ‘worth it’

Earlier this month, the FBI announced it managed to crack open the iPhone belonging to one of the San Bernardino shooters — by hiring contractor hackers. Now we know roughly how much that cost the U.S. taxpayers.   FBI Director James Comey suggested at an event in London on Thursday that the FBI paid
