I started working at home back in the ’80’s when it wasn’t so cool or even a trend.
As the time progress and working at home become more and more the “norm”. Big business started to incorporate this options to their employees. It was cost effective, more productivity, and flexible. It was a total win-win for both the businesses and the employees.
The idea was sold with the concept of “work at home”, work in your pajamas, telecommute, save time and money, work from anywhere, be your own boss!
However, it’s not all that flexible, easy and you really shouldn’t work in your pajamas. As the virtual world keeps involving and you have more and more virtual conferences, webinars, meetings and so on.
We the virtual employee or freelance individuals have established a more professional look. Not only does it give us more credibility, but it does set us apart from the typical workforce. We have incorporated a look, “The Causal Business Friday Look” as our regular look.
Why? You may ask……Simple, practical, professional, productive, credible, stylish, and above all the beginning of the minimalist trend.
If you are in the new workforce and have the power to work at home. Follow these simple rules.
Dedicated Work Space
Take Time Off
Remember, all work and no play can hurt your morale and make you depress and stressful.
Wishing you and your family the best for the new coming year. I hope we have all learned, appreciated, and value all the lessons 2016 had to offer. Some were not the best, some were very painful as we lost dear friends and family members. Our financial struggles might have gotten better, others might have gotten worse. Relationships flourished while others had to walk away.
Still, we are all here! Promising ourselves this new coming year will be better, and it will!
I have tremendous faith in you. You will make it happen!
Is your blog use as a stepping stone by others? If you answered yes, you are right. No matter how much you try to protect your blog or you did your best with copyrights. Your blog can and will be used by others as a bridge to get better status.
Should you be sore about it? No. The reason you made a blog was to share information. As long as you get the recognition from the other bloggers you should be fine.
So why they have more followers than you? I know it’s not for the lack of trying. Remember these rule:
You need to blog every day
You have to be consistent with your chosen theme
You have to let people know you are out there. The web is huge, you are just a speck in its infinitive universe.
Social Media plays a huge part in this as well.
Choose your topic well.
Grammar is everything. Double check or even triple check for errors.
Pictures get their attention.
Captivate your audience with your title
Make sure you keep their interest so they can keep visiting your site.
Accept comments and engage with your audience. Make them feel special.
Never give up on your dream. If this is what makes you happy and you are dedicated to it do not stop.Maybe your stardom to fame will come later than sooner. You are here to built a solid foundation, not a trend or a passing wonder that eventually people will get tired of it.

Election 2016 – The second presidential debate was last night. As we all know, while Hillary Clinton kept her cool and stayed focus on the issues that matter to the American Public. Donald Trump did not disappoint us with his typical ranting and putting the blame on everyone that can hold a candle. He is a real bully. He even disagrees with his own running Vice-President. This election is about Donald Trump being #1. He wants to win for himself. The Republican are at arm wits trying desperately to find a safe heaven with their candidate. In my book, Clinton is 2-0 with this big win again.
Hurricane Matthew – This was a very nasty storm. The damage and devastation it caused, hasn’t been seen in decades. I can personally tell you, we were without power. It was an ordeal to get fuel, supplies. My back yard is in shambles. My dog was terrified. My children were scared. We had no means of communication with the outside world since everything we own is run on power. We were without power for 2 a day and what save us was we are close to City Hall and I guess we are in the same grind as them. But when we lost the internet, for 2 1/2 days. If you are like me, who works using the internet this was a downpour. We give thanks, to the utilities and Brighthouse for the heroic tireless effort to restored everyone life back to normal. For those who has lost their home, our prayers are with you. Just remember, you can always rebuild, a lost life is worst.
Give to the Red Cross for the Hurricane Matthew’s Victims
“My septic tank decided to clog up on Sunday. My husband decides he doesn’t want to go to work today (the sole bread winner of the household). I am being force to take a low paying job to boost our non-existent income. I hate Mondays! Yet, I still blog…..”
“No! That song won’t do this morning.”
So folks, let just think positive and sing our worries goodbey.”
“Wow,I am up to my 241 posts here at “thepooramerican.com”. I am very happy that everyone has stopped by to see what I was doing.”
Animal Abuse and Why Should U Care………………….
I understand we cannot save every animal that is out there in agony and pain. I understand there are many many children and less fortunate that need our help as well. I understand whatever happens in another foreign country within their culture is not our business and we should not judge or intervene.
You are right. We shouldn’t but we do. We do it because of our moral obligation of knowing what is right and what is wrong. We do it because society as a whole needs to speak and say “This is wrong!”. We do it because if you post your abuse on social media, then it is my right or our right to say you are wrong. You are seeking acknowledgment, I cannot stay shut and look the other way.
It saddens me how abusive human have become toward their animals. It saddens me how angry and barbaric they have become. I cannot change Yulin, I cannot change S. Korea and other Asian countries, but I can fight my battle here with the awareness that animal abuse and cruelty are happening too many times here in the United States.
So, how can you help?
Listen, I am not rich. I am struggling financially like everyone else is. All I can do is pass the word. Please do the same. Pass the word. Retweet, share on Facebook, Tumblr, and other social media. Someone out there may have more resources and would be able to help. Your cost is nothing. Zero dollars, just a few minutes of your time. Your reward priceless.
