Five easy way to end writer’s block.

Got the writer’s blog blues, here are five easy way to get focus again.

  1. Stop what you are doing. – That’s right, just stop! Looking at your laptop, Chromebook, Mac or Tablet is not going to help you out. Take a break, walk away, do something else for a while, then try again.
  2. Take a walk or a drive. – Figure it out, where you usually do your best brain storming? Go there and get your energy recharge again. Do not forget to write down your ideas on a simple pad or even yet, record a voice memo.
  3. Communicate – Talking is the best way to get your idea out. Have a conversation with those friends you have been neglecting lately. See what they are up to. You might be inspired, they might have some great ideas to pass along.
  4. Read a book, watch T.V., listen to some music. you might be surprise. – A phrase, something that caught your eye while watching, reading, might stir you back in the right direction.
  5. Sleep – Yes, this is what could be why you are not being creative. Lack of sleep or just simply hungry can make you go “zombie”.

Why not lets throw another one,

You might just need some good old “TLC”.

When I was in 5th grade I remember this music teacher I had, she love to play classical music ( Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Chopin, etc) and give us a class assignments on the piece she was playing.

I remember, she would close her eyes and simply disappear to another realm, while the music played. I hated those days she did these assignments, simply because, I felt in my heart I never got the assignment right. While all the other students would comment on the music and the history behind it (“Smart Ass!).  I would go a total different direction, my composition would take me into a fantasy world, where I would write a tale.

More often than not, I would get my creative juices flowing and I wind up, with a fantastic tale of love and triumph, sometimes, high-speed chases, other times just about mystical creatures and adventure.

At the end of the class, I would very proudly, submit my assignment, expecting for her to say something. Anything on what I had written previously or if I was even going in the right direction. Sadly, she would just politely smile at me and take my paper. Never saying a word, or  even commenting on my composition.

I did pass the class, not with the grade I was expecting, actually she was very generous and gave me a “C”. I really wished, she would had explained herself a little better, when she said “Write about what you feel…..”

That is exactly what I did, I wrote about what the music was making me feel, and my hyper, over exaggerated imagination did the rest.  So why, did I think about her now?

Sometimes, I really do not know what to write or say, and I look for some inspiration to get my creative writing juices flowing again. This morning, she was my inspiration.

I just wanted to write what I was feeling this morning………….

Open Letter to All Animal Abuser

Hello,

My name is Max, and I am a boxer. This is my owner. She likes to be called “Mama”. When my human family tells me “….go see Mama,” I know I have to go see what she wants. I had other siblings, 11 of them to be exact. I do not know where they are now, but I do know my human family loves me and takes care of me, as I take care of them.

My human family is pretty cool. Actually, they let me lounge on the couch all day long,they give me baths when I am stinky, feed me when I am hungry, give me shelter, they buy me toys so I won’t chew their shoes or the furniture. They take me out for walks so I get exercise and take me to the Vet so that I am always healthy.

I also love those wonderful car rides. I have even become somewhat of a celebrity at my human sister’s school. I try my best not to bark too much but sometimes I can help it because I get too excited and I want to share my discovery or alert my family of danger, even voice my opinion on something I just might need or don’t understand. My Human Mom is very good at understanding what I am trying to say. She never beats me or hurts me when I am bad. They love me as I love them and they trust me as I trust them. They are my family.

I am not asking you to be like my human family, all I am asking  is to please stop hurting my fellow friends. They are not to blame for your anger or cruelty you are giving them. They don’t deserve to be mistreated or abused. All they are asking is to be loved, respected and taken care of properly. If you  can not do this anymore, there are places for free that can take them in-no questions asked. I promise you, you will feel much better about yourself.

So please think before you act. Walk away if you must. Animal cruelty is a crime, and you will be punished; it is also morally wrong. I believe it’s better to be known as an animal lover  than an animal hater.
